Perforated aluminium is not a flying-theatre-only material. Its real market spans permanent venues that need compound curvature, concealed audio and services, dimensional stability and a maintainable projection surface.
A robust dome-screen specification defines measurable visual, acoustic, structural and installation outcomes. Copying a hole size or panel detail from another project is not a substitute for project-specific engineering.
LED domes are receiving attention, but public evidence also shows continuing procurement for new perforated aluminium domes, laser upgrades and lifecycle work. The market is best read as a sequence of project triggers—not a single growth percentage.
The right dome display cannot be selected from contrast or pixel pitch alone. Projection and LED move cost and risk into different parts of the building, so the decision must be made at system level.
